Big Mantrap Lake truly lives up to its name.
This 1,770-acre lake snakes its way around nearly 35 miles of fishable
shoreline. Its been referred to as "little lake of the woods" because of the sparse development and the many bays,
arms and islands. As you boat along, each new waterway and bay looks better than the last.

You keep plunking casts along the shoreline, moving and exploring. Finally, when its time
to head back, you look around and wonder, "which way"?
You will eventually find your way home, you'll want to return to the lake again soon because Big Mantrap
truly is one of the state's most beautiful settings for a fishing trip. Besides the variety of game fish in the
lake, when you get around that next bend you could see an osprey swoop down for a fish or a bald eagle doing a
bit of nest repair. White-tailed deer are frequently spotted standing in shallow bays drinking, along with otter,
beaver and more.
